As Senior Editor for Africa at CNN Worldwide, she launched the network’s first digital and multiplatform bureau in Lagos, leading coverage that amplifies African voices globally. Her bold, empathetic storytelling includes the viral TED Talk “How Fake News Does Real Harm,” viewed millions of times and translated into over 37 languages.
Her work has earned her a Peabody Award, Gracie Award, DuPont-Columbia Award, and more. She’s been named among Africa’s 25 Most Powerful Female Journalists and the UN’s Most Influential People of African Descent. Her insights have featured in Forbes, Business Day, This Day live, Al Jazeera, Quartz, and Bloomberg.
A Yale World Fellow, she is the founder of the Stephanie Busari Storytelling Academy, which aims to train 100,000 African storytellers. Through her new venture, SBB Media, she continues to shape the future of African media with a commitment to truth, purpose, and narrative change.
