The Lord’s Achievers Awards (LAA) celebrates young leaders, innovators, and changemakers whose works embody excellence, leadership, and societal impact.

Born out of a vision to spotlight individuals whose work transcends personal success and contributes meaningfully to socio-economic advancement, the Awards have become a symbol of excellence, youth leadership, and societal impact.

Over the past six years, the Awards have celebrated true Achievers who exemplify the courage to lead, the creativity to innovate, and the commitment to impact lives and communities.

Our History

The Lord's Achievers Awards was first presented in 2019, borne out of a desire to honour the efforts of those who are an inspiration to us all in different sectors of society. Initially called the International Day of Achievers, the first edition was held at Radisson Blu Anchorage Hotel, GRA, Ikeja. The Lord's Achievers Awards, with each year having a different theme such as ;Celebrating Emerging Icons, The Bold and Audacious, Celebrating Innovative Excellence.

Lord’s Achievers Awards debuts with seven categories, celebrating to spotlight young leaders and innovators making an impact in Nigeria and beyond.

Lord’s Achievers Awards broadens its scope to include emerging sectors like health advocacy, human rights, HR, and media.
As the world slowly emerges from the COVID-19 pandemic, the third edition focused on spotlighting young Nigerians who rose to the occasion with bold, impactful leadership.

Lord’s Achievers Awards refines categories to recognise “The Bold and Audacious”, including a broader Ladies of Impact category for women who demonstrated courage and purpose-driven impact in shaping the future of their industries.

Lord’s Achievers Awards celebrates “Innovative Excellence” with the introduction of a newly designed plaque that reflects the distinguished prestige and purpose of the programme.

The 6th edition marked the rebrand of Lord’s London Dry Gin, ushering in a new generation shaping Nigeria’s future as the “Emerging Icons”.

Voting And Selections

The process begins nominations by a selected jury, all notable in their respective field/category. The jury members then participate in 1) the nominating process that determines the three finalists in each category; and (2) the final voting process which determines The Lord’s Achievers Award winners.

Nominating

Jury members and organisers submit names of individuals they consider worthy of recognition and fit the criteria.

Special Nominating Committees

In Craft categories, final nominations are determined by committees comprised of voting members from all of The Academy’s Chapter cities who are actively working the craft they are judging and vote based on Age, Experience, Credibility, Reach, Award Alignment, Brand Alignment

Awardees receive the Lords awards plaque, as well as a sizeable amount of NDL products for at least three months.
The Awards exist to recognise, celebrate, and amplify the stories of young Nigerians who are making positive change, pushing boundaries, and achieving excellence in their chosen fields.
Since 2019, the Awards have been held six consecutive times. The 2025 event will mark the 7th edition.
An Achiever is someone who excels in their craft, inspires others, and contributes meaningfully to their community or industry.
